Ryan Wills: Defining Strength Through Resilience and Determination

At Exile Performance Nutrition, we celebrate athletes who face adversity head-on and inspire others with their strength, and Ryan Wills is the perfect embodiment of that spirit. As a Baltimore County Police Officer and adaptive athlete, Ryan has shown incredible resilience in both his career and personal life.

On December 11, 2021, Ryan's life took an unexpected turn when he was involved in an off-duty car accident that resulted in a spinal cord injury. Ryan’s determination hasn’t wavered and he’s approached his rehabilitation with the same grit and discipline he’s shown throughout his life, proving that setbacks are simply setups for comebacks.

An active 24-year-old, Ryan has always been passionate about sports and loves working out, cooking, and spending time with his family. His athletic background and love for pushing his limits have fueled his journey toward recovery. Competing in four marathons on a handcycle, Ryan placed 1st in one race and 2nd in the others—an incredible testament to his determination and strength. His successes are a reminder that no obstacle is too great when you combine hard work, resilience, and a positive mindset.

Ryan credits his family, friends and Exile for supporting him as he continues to fuel his body and push his physical limits. “Exile has supported my adaptive athletic abilities in the gym and outside the gym,” he says, recognizing how important nutrition and fitness are in helping him achieve his full potential.

What makes Ryan’s story so inspiring isn’t just his physical accomplishments, but the mindset that drives him. His sport has taught him valuable lessons: to always be grateful and to understand that discipline is more important than motivation. These lessons have helped him thrive, not only in athletics but in his role as a police officer, where he serves his community with the same dedication and values he holds dear: humility, honesty, and respect for others.

Ryan’s journey is a powerful reminder that true strength is found in how we respond to life’s challenges. His resilience and drive to continue learning and improving inspire everyone around him. At Exile, we are honored to support Ryan as he writes this next chapter, turning obstacles into opportunities and pushing the limits of what’s possible.
