About Us

Overview of Exile Fitness & EPN:

Exile Performance Nutrition (EPN) is a dietary supplement shop located within Exile Fitness, a gym located in Rosedale, Maryland. EPN opened on August 5, 2019, just a few months after the gym relocated to 8303 Pulaski Highway.  Exile Fitness, a rapidly expanding training facility that launched in 2010, first opened its doors in a 5,500 square foot facility on Route 40. Our new location boasts a 40,000 square foot facility featuring several complimentary businesses including: Ground Control MMA, Resilient Sports Physiotherapy, Head2Toe Body & Massage, and Opti Health Institute.

Exile Performance Nutrition opened with only one display case and sixteen products. After two years of operation (and surviving a government- mandated business shutdown), we now market over a thousand products. We are incredibly fortunate to have remained in business thanks to our loyal gym members and trusted friends who supported EPN, even during the shutdown.

Message from the Owner of EPN, Brik Sublett:

I was 16 years old when I found my passion in personal training and helping others find the most effective ways to change their bodies through nutrition and supplements. I have been devoted to fitness since my high school years at Kenwood High (Essex, MD) where all my free time was spent with Coach Durkovic in the weight room.  I was hooked. I participated in power lifting competitions during my teenage years, and I fell in love with the sport of body building and power lifting. My first job was at GNC and I also worked the front desk at local fitness center, Forze Gym.  At 19 when college baseball ended, I became a personal trainer at Exile Fitness while continuing my education at CCBC. While training at Exile and working among world-class athletes, I was able to build a strong client base. I was extremely fortunate to work among world class athletes— it changed my perspective and set the bar high. I am humbled that I was able to train with body builder Kevin Levrone during his comeback prep for 2017 Mr. Olympia, as well as all-time world record power lifters like Hifon Smith and Phil Herndon.

In helping Exile Fitness’s owner Bob Lutz transform an empty warehouse into a successful gym complex at the new location, I was presented with the opportunity to open a nutrition store in the new space. As I recognized a void in basic knowledge regarding the supplement industry, I seized the opportunity.  I had discovered early on that my talent was taking seemingly complex problems and simplifying them to help others reach their personal goals. I also love learning, and continue to expand my knowledge personally and professionally. I knew that this was what I was meant to do. As soon as I was given the green light, it was ‘game on,’ and I hit the ground running. With the loyalty and support of the client base I had established at Exile Fitness, friends I had met along the way, and my training partners, I was able to gain traction quickly with EPN. On August 5, 2019, Exile Performance Nutrition opened with a handshake, less than 20 products, and a burning desire to succeed.

After being open for 7 months, EPN had become so busy that it was time to bring on another team member. My youngest brother Seth, aka “Rocman,” jumped right in. Little did we know that his first day at EPN would be the day all gyms across Maryland were forced to shut down due to COVID-19 business closure mandates. With such a strong customer base and no hint of when the gym would be allowed to reopen, we were extremely fortunate to be able to hand-deliver supplements to people’s homes while the physical shop was closed. We wanted to do everything we could to help clients stay on track with their training programs through at-home workout and nutrition plans.

Fast forward to mid-July 2020, when Exile Fitness was able to reopen. With an explosion of foot traffic and gym members returning, we were able to expand EPN, build out another section of the gym, and create more plans for expansion in the future.

Why EPN?:

Early in my career, I learned from working at a corporate nutrition store that there was nothing more frustrating than selling products I did not personally believe in, all in the name of the bottom line. I valued my reputation and felt disingenuous selling products just to hit a quota.  At EPN, if I do not believe in a product, you won’t find it on our shelf. I have no one to report to, no quota to meet. Our only goal at EPN is to see our clients optimize their health and performance. Each of the products at EPN were hand-selected, tested in-house, and have helped our customers reach their goals.

If this sounds good to you, let’s design a personal plan to help you reach your health and fitness goals.  Know that I will be here to help each step of the way. I am just as devoted to helping those who are just looking to lose a few pounds as I am to the competitive body builders working to achieve “professional” status. We truly work with people from all walks of life here at Exile Performance Nutrition, and you do not have to be an existing gym member to buy from our shop. All are welcome to stop by.

Not all supplements are created equal. You could probably purchase most of our products on another website—but at EPN, we “stack” products and take the time to explain how they can work together to benefit you and get the results you want. We pride ourselves on hand-selecting every single item in our store and only offering products that we genuinely believe in. And we do all the research for you to save you time. For example, NutraBio is our house brand. We offer their products because they are third party tested and manufactured in a GMP-approved facility, in house. All supplements from NutraBio are filler-free and excipient-free. There are so many brands that promise results, and it can be overwhelming for consumers to trust that their purchase will bring quality products and the desired results. EPN does not carry gimmicky products or underdosed options like some corporate or wholesale stores might. EPN also offers a passionate and knowledgeable staff that wants to help YOU.

In addition to our Pulaski Highway shop, we have a satellite location at Athletic Asylum, a CrossFit gym in Rosedale, MD.  We look forward to expanding to other locations in the future.

If you have made it to this paragraph…thank you for reading all of this! And a big thank you to all those who have supported me and continue to support me in this important effort. To all of you out there looking to reach your full potential, I cannot wait to work with you!
