Phill Herndon: Breaking Records and Defying Limits

Phil Herndon is no stranger to powerlifting greatness, having spent over a decade dominating the sport and breaking records that few can match. With a career that spans from 2013 to the present, Phil has shattered over 10 All-Time World Records, solidifying his legacy as one of the sport’s elite. His most remarkable achievement? Becoming the lightest person to ever squat 1,000 pounds in wraps—an incredible feat of strength and determination.

From raw powerlifting to competing in wraps, single ply, and multiply disciplines, Phil’s versatility and expertise shine through. His commitment to the sport is evident in the multiple squat All-Time World Records he holds across all these categories. Yet, his success isn't limited to powerlifting alone. He also holds a record in the 100-meter dash from his high school track days, where speed and strength went hand-in-hand.

Phil’s journey in powerlifting has been driven by the core values of hard work and determination. As a full-time 911 dispatcher, he balances the demands of a high-stress career while continuing to push the limits of his physical capabilities in powerlifting. The discipline he's gained through powerlifting has shaped both his professional and athletic life, allowing him to excel in both arenas.

Outside of the gym, Phil enjoys traveling and exploring the outdoors and is viewed by those around him as an incredible person and friend, who is always looking out for others. This lighter side of him contrasts with the relentless pursuit of strength that has defined his powerlifting career.

Phil’s journey from sprinting the 100M to squatting 1,000 pounds is a testament to his dedication to both athleticism and power. Whether he's on the platform breaking records or out enjoying the beauty of nature, Phil Herndon continues to inspire with his story of perseverance and excellence.
